But the truth is, what you do from this point forward can dramatically change your body.
In this article, I’ll share my perspective both as a BEYOND Kichijoji trainer and as someone who goes through this same post-holiday period every year.


After the Holidays: A Crossroads — Gain More or Get Back on Track

Why “holiday weight” sticks so easily

During the New Year holidays:

  • We eat more
  • We move less
  • Our daily rhythm gets disrupted

The problem is that these habits tend to linger even after the holidays are over.
If you do nothing, you may suddenly realize that the weight never came off.


The Common Mistake People Make After the Holidays

Trying to be perfect from day one

This was actually my own mistake before I became a trainer.

  • Drastically cutting food
  • Jumping back into intense workouts
  • Completely cutting out sweets

You might be able to push through for a short time, but:

  • You get exhausted
  • Stress builds up
  • You can’t sustain it

And that’s exactly how rebound weight gain happens.

  • Fish
  • Eggs

Instead of restricting breakfast or lunch, adjusting dinner is far less stressful and much more effective.

3. Don’t think “restriction” — think “adjustment”

Even if you have social events or eat out, don’t think “I’ve ruined everything.”
Just adjust at the next meal — that mindset is what makes success last.
